Prof. Katarzyna Pisarska’s visit to European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE) in Brussels

On April 25th, the Chairwoman of the Board of the Casimir Pulaski Foundation, Prof. Katarzyna Pisarska was invited to speak to the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE) in Brussels. The public hearing was devoted to the topic of EU-NATO cooperation as a follow up of the Madrid Summit and the 3rd Joint Declaration. The meeting was chaired by Member of Parliament Nathalie Loiseau and included testimonies from Dick Zandee, a Senior Research Fellow at the Clingendael Institute and Thierry Tardy, Director of the Research Division at the NATO Defence College in Rome.
In her testimony, Prof. Pisarska argued that NATO-EU cooperation is indispensable to facilitate an effective and multidimensional response to contemporary security threats. The Third EU-NATO Declaration, remains however very general and should be translated into concrete results and actions first and foremost in the following four priority areas: supporting Ukraine’s military effort, improving European military mobility; strengthening European social resilience and better communicating the new realities and EU-NATO partnership to the public.
